„Keeping track of societal and ecological changes, studying cultural histories and recording my responses and own experiences are as much as important to my daily practice than being in the studio, where I transform my notes from the field into visual catalysts. This way of working offers me a perpetual challenge. It is the basis for my creative process and the means for a nonverbal communication with others. In the late 1970, I set out as an expressive painter. Over the last 25 years, I’ve expanded my material language: worked with clay and sculpted paper, spent days in the darkroom, explored the use of wax, added oils and pigment to my palette, and collected a multitude of natural materials and cultural debris for my assemblages. Most of the time spent on creating the elements for an installation is taken up by the „alchemical process” in the studio: altering and assembling objects; converting layers of bees wax and pigments into texture; perforating paper or shaping it into new forms; combining common materials with natural matter. Joseph Beuys’ expended art concept has influenced my creative approach. He said that every person through their social activity and behavior can contribute to the public good and sculpt society.”
